Honest advice on the bigger question

For many home pools, a targeted repair and regrout makes more sense than a retile, if the render behind the tiles is sound. Where it is not, we explain why and what the alternatives are.

Home pools are often older than the extension around them, or sit in a converted outbuilding, and the tiles can be hard to match. If you have spares from when the pool was built, dig them out before we visit.

Outdoor pools

Outdoor pools in the villages are better worked on in milder weather, because adhesives and grouts need the right temperature to cure. Indoor pools can be scheduled more freely, around how the household uses them.

Working to a fixed window

There are also college and school pools, leisure pools, and hotel and spa pools around the city. Schools and colleges usually need the work done in the holidays, so an inspection during term gives the most room to plan. Changing rooms that serve the pool can often go into the same window.
