Leisure centres and public pools

Leisure centre pool refurbishment: every closure day matters.

A closed pool affects lessons, memberships, bookings and revenue. We plan the sequence carefully, keep sound work in place where we can, and build cure and refill time into the programme from the start.

Planning

Agreed in advance, reviewed as we go

  • Scope, materials, access and working areas confirmed before the pool is drained
  • Coordination with the operator throughout
  • Progress kept under review
  • Hidden defects or programme risks flagged promptly

Targeted repair

Compare a local repair with a full refurbishment

A careful assessment can identify local defects, preserve sound work and help you compare a targeted repair with a larger refurbishment. Keeping sound tiles can avoid the cost and disruption of stripping and replacing everything.

The details swimmers see

Lane markings, steps, edges and channels

Lane lines, entry steps, edge tiles and drainage channels take the most wear and are the first things people notice. We bring a tiler’s eye to each of them so the work suits the pool around it.

Questions we are often asked

All questions
How long will the pool be out of use?

It depends on the scope of work and the products used. We confirm the scope, materials, access and working areas in advance and build cure and refill times into the programme rather than skipping them to meet a date.

Can a refurbishment save the cost of a full new pool finish?

It can. Keeping sound tiles and repairing the affected areas can avoid the cost and disruption of stripping and replacing everything. The right option depends on the shell, waterproofing, tile bond, background, movement joints and water conditions.

Can you guarantee the pool will reopen by a particular date?

We work hard to meet agreed dates and plan the sequence carefully, and we flag hidden defects or programme risks promptly. Refill and return to service wait until the products have cured in line with their instructions, so cure time is never skipped to meet a date.

Start with an estimate

Tell us about your pool.

Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.

We aim to reply within two working days.

What affects the estimate?

  • The pool area and which surfaces need work
  • Joint size and the grout or tiles involved
  • The condition of the tiles, joints and background
  • Access to the pool and the working areas
  • Preparation, cleaning and any repairs needed first
  • The programme and when the pool can close
