Private pools in country homes

A private pool in a rural house is often lightly used but kept warm for months at a time. Grout slowly softens, a step tile works loose, or the finish dulls, and the owner only notices when something becomes obvious.

Access matters on country properties. A pool hall inside an older house may mean carrying everything through, so we will ask about doors, corridors, floor protection and where materials can be stored before we arrive.

Pools in older buildings

Some Perthshire hotels have pools added to period buildings, and those spaces bring their own concerns: ventilation, damp in surrounding walls and finishes that need to sit well with the building.

Photos and a short video help us judge the likely scope before travelling up from Warrington, though we always inspect before pricing. For bigger jobs we stay nearby, and the cure time before refill is part of the plan from the start.

The tiles around the pool

In many private and hotel pool halls the surround, steps and edge bands take as much wear as the tank. Slippery or cracked poolside tiles, loose nosings and open joints around channels are worth fixing in the same closure.

We can look at the whole room on one visit and suggest what is urgent and what can wait.

Changing rooms and showers can often be done in the same closure too, where the layout allows the work to be done safely.
