Pool tiling in Aberdeen, planned around a long trip north.

Aberdeen is one of the furthest cities we travel to from Warrington, so we plan every visit with care. If your pool has loose tiles, open grout or a worn finish, we will agree what needs seeing, when the pool can be drained and how long we should stay before we set off.

The Granite City

Pools between the Dee and the Don

Aberdeen sits on the North Sea coast between the mouths of the Dee and the Don. Its pools range from public leisure and school pools to university facilities, hotel and health club pools serving business visitors, and private pools in homes out in Aberdeenshire.

Plenty of them are run hard, with long opening hours and constant cleaning, and that shows first in the grout lines, the steps and the pool edge.

Before we travel

Getting the details settled at a distance

A long journey is worth it only if we arrive with the right materials and the pool is ready for us. We will ask you a few practical questions well ahead of the visit.

  • When can the pool be drained, and who will do it?
  • Is there a spare stock of the original tiles?
  • Where can we park, unload and store materials?
  • Are there areas outside the tank, such as showers or a spa, to look at on the same visit?
On the job

Staying in the city until it is done

For anything more than a quick inspection, Dan and Jay stay locally rather than travel back and forth. That keeps the work moving and means the adhesive and grout get their full cure time before refill, with no pressure to rush so we can head home.

If a tile failure keeps coming back in the same place, we will look for the reason behind it, such as a failed bed or movement in the structure, rather than just replace the tile again.

Beyond the tank

Showers, changing rooms and surrounds

If we are coming all the way up, it makes sense to look at everything tiled around the pool while we are there. Poolside walkways, channels, showers and changing rooms share the same water, chemicals and foot traffic, so they often wear on the same timetable as the pool itself.

Tell us about those areas when you send photos. Where it suits your closure, some of that work can be done on the same trip, which can save shutting twice.

Pool work in Aberdeen: common questions

All questions
Will you really travel to Aberdeen from Warrington?

Yes. We cover the whole of the UK. For a city this far north we plan the trip carefully and stay nearby while the work is under way.

Do you cover pools outside the city in Aberdeenshire?

Yes. Private pools in rural homes and hotel pools out of town are fine, as long as we can get materials and equipment to the pool.

Can you inspect and repair on the same trip?

Sometimes. If your photos show a small, clear problem and the pool will be drained, we can often bring what we need. Bigger jobs usually need an inspection first so we can agree the scope properly.

Start with an estimate

Tell us about your pool.

Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.

Dan or Jay will be in touch within 24 hours.

What affects the estimate?

  • The pool area and which surfaces need work
  • Joint size and the grout or tiles involved
  • The condition of the tiles, joints and background
  • Access to the pool and the working areas
  • Preparation, cleaning and any repairs needed first
  • The programme and when the pool can close
