Pool tile repairs in Brighton, by the sea, with hard water to match.
Brighton and Hove sit on chalk, and the water here is hard. Over time that shows on a tiled pool as scale lines at the waterline, rough grout and a dull finish that ordinary cleaning will not shift. We clean, repair, regrout and retile pools across the city and along the coast.
What hard water does to a tiled pool
Scale builds up where water evaporates and where it sits still: along the waterline band, around inlets and in the corners of steps. It is mostly a cosmetic problem at first, but heavy deposits hide cracked tiles and open joints, and aggressive scrubbing to remove them can damage the grout underneath.
A drained, controlled chemical clean usually tells us far more than any photo. Once the deposits are off, we can see which tiles are sound, which joints have washed out and whether the problem is the surface or something deeper.
Seafront hotels, clubs and homes
Brighton has hotel and spa pools along the seafront and in the centre, health club and gym pools, school and leisure pools across the city, and private pools in homes in Hove and the villages on the edge of the South Downs.
Hotel pools here often run hard through the summer and the weekend trade, so a closure needs fitting around bookings. We agree the dates with you before anything is drained.
- Chemical cleaning and descaling of tiled pools
- Waterline band repairs and replacement
- Epoxy regrouting where cement grout has softened
- Step nosings and edge tile repairs
- Spa pools and steam rooms
A look first, then a clear scope
We travel down from Warrington, so a set of photos helps us understand the pool before the trip. We still inspect before we price. Tapping across the walls and floor, checking movement joints and looking at the steps gives us a proper picture, and we tell you where tiles may need lifting to be sure.
Grout and adhesive are left to cure for the time the manufacturer sets before the pool goes back into use.
Our team’s previous pool experience
Previous projects: carried out by Dan and his dad as self-employed subcontractors, before PoolRevive was formed. About our experience
Can scale on my Brighton pool tiles be removed without retiling?
Often, yes. A controlled chemical clean on a drained pool removes most scale. If tiles underneath are crazed or the grout has gone, we will tell you and suggest repairs rather than a full retile where that will do.
Will regrouting stop the scale coming back?
No. Scale comes from the water itself, so it will build again. A smooth, sound epoxy grout is easier to keep clean, and regular waterline cleaning by your staff keeps the build up light.
Do you work on private pools in Hove and the surrounding villages?
Yes. We take on private indoor and outdoor pools as well as hotel, club, school and leisure pools.
Tell us about your pool.
Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.
