Portsmouth pool tiling, from Portsea Island across the Solent.
Portsmouth is an island city, with the ferry terminals for the Isle of Wight right on the doorstep. We repair, regroute and retile pools in the city and can plan a crossing to the island for holiday park, hotel and private pools there.
Pools on Portsea Island and around the harbour
Portsmouth packs a lot onto a small area. There are school and teaching pools, university and college pools, public leisure pools, hotel and health club pools, and private pools in homes in Southsea and the towns around Portsmouth Harbour.
Busy city streets mean parking and deliveries need some thought. We confirm where materials can be dropped, where waste can go and how we get into the pool hall before the first day on site.
Working around school and university calendars
Teaching pools are usually easiest to close in the school summer holidays, and university pools between terms. Those windows fill up, so it pays to have the inspection done and the scope agreed well ahead.
If the work turns out bigger than one holiday allows, we can split it into stages, starting with anything that is a safety problem such as sharp edges or lifting tiles on steps.

Isle of Wight pools
Holiday park, hotel and private pools on the island tend to be busiest in summer, so autumn and winter are often the best time for repairs. We plan the ferry, materials and accommodation around the job so nothing is left on the mainland, and photos before the trip help us bring the right tiles and kit.
We still inspect before we price. Photos show us the general condition, but only a closer look and tap testing on site tell us whether tiles are hollow, how far loose areas spread and whether a regrout will be enough. If the island pool is small, we can sometimes line it up with work on the mainland in the same week.
Our team’s previous pool experience
Previous projects: carried out by Dan and his dad as self-employed subcontractors, before PoolRevive was formed. About our experience
Do you work on the Isle of Wight?
Yes. We take the ferry across and plan materials and accommodation around the job. Off season is usually the easiest time for holiday park and hotel pools.
Can you fit our school pool repair into the summer holiday?
Usually, if we inspect early and agree the scope before the holiday starts. Cure time before refill has to be part of the plan.
Can you match the tiles on our older pool?
We try. Spare original tiles are the best way to get a close match, so check your store room before we visit. If none are left, we look for the nearest available tile and discuss the options.
Tell us about your pool.
Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.
