Swimming pool repairs in Canterbury, inside the old city walls and beyond.
Canterbury is a cathedral city with a medieval centre, narrow streets and plenty of old buildings, and that affects how pool work is planned. We repair, regroute and retile pools in the city, at its universities and schools, and in homes and holiday lets around east Kent.
Working on tight and older sites
Inside the walls, getting a van close to a building is not always simple. Before we start we agree where materials can be unloaded, how they reach the pool hall and where waste is kept, so the work does not get held up on the first morning.
Pools in older buildings can also bring surprises behind the tiles, such as earlier repairs laid over one another or backgrounds that move differently from modern blockwork. We tap test, look closely at the joints, and tell you where something may need opening up before we can be sure.
The kinds of pools here
Canterbury is a university city and has several independent schools, so teaching and sports pools are common. There are also hotel and health club pools, public leisure pools, and private pools in the villages of east Kent and in holiday homes along the coast towards Whitstable and Herne Bay.

Finding why tiles keep failing
If the same area of a pool keeps losing tiles, replacing them again rarely solves it. We look for the cause first, which can be a failed bed, missing movement joints, or water getting behind the finish, and suggest a repair that deals with it.
Mosaic and patterned pools need extra care so repairs sit well with the original. Spare tiles kept from the first installation make a big difference.
Once tiles are relaid, the adhesive and grout are given the cure time the manufacturer asks for before the pool is refilled. Cutting that short is one of the common reasons repairs fail early, so we build it into the programme from the start rather than squeezing it at the end.
Our team’s previous pool experience
Previous projects: carried out by Dan and his dad as self-employed subcontractors, before PoolRevive was formed. About our experience
Can you work on a pool in Canterbury city centre where parking is limited?
Yes. We plan deliveries, unloading and waste storage with you before the start date so access does not hold up the job.
Our pool is in an older building. Does that change the approach?
It can. Older pools often have layers of earlier repairs, so we inspect carefully and explain what we can and cannot confirm without lifting tiles.
Do you repair holiday let pools near Whitstable and Herne Bay?
Yes. We take on private and holiday let pools, and the quieter months are usually the best time to book the work in.
Tell us about your pool.
Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.
