Ellesmere Port · Cheshire

The whole pool hall, not just the tank.

We carry out swimming pool tiling, tile repairs and regrouting in Ellesmere Port, and we usually look beyond the pool itself. Surrounds, showers and changing rooms take constant water and heavy foot traffic, and they shape how a facility feels to the people using it.

Surrounds

Poolside floors that work hard

Pool surrounds are walked on wet and barefoot all day, cleaned often and splashed with pool water. Common problems are cracked or loose tiles, eroded grout in walkways, damaged edge tiles and water lying around channels and gratings.

When a surround is renewed, slip resistance needs weighing up alongside appearance and how easy the floor is to clean. We talk through suitable tiles with you rather than assuming one answer for every pool.

Edge and band tiles at the perimeter take knocks from equipment and cleaning machines, and a chipped edge can be sharp, so they are worth checking regularly.

Changing areas

Wet rooms and changing rooms

Changing rooms tend to fail more quietly: grout breaking down at floor junctions, tiles cracking near drains, joints grouted solid where they should allow movement. The result is water getting where it should not.

Changing area work can sometimes be phased separately from the pool, which helps a leisure centre or health club keep part of the facility open.

Check the falls to the drains as well. Where water sits on a changing room floor, the grout and tiles there usually go first, and the falls may need correcting as part of the job.

The area

Ellesmere Port, Chester and the Wirral

We take on public leisure and school pools, health clubs and private pools in and around Ellesmere Port, on the Wirral peninsula just north of Chester.

It is a straightforward drive from our Warrington base, and we work on pools across the rest of the UK as well.

Holiday park and smaller private pools are welcome too, from a single repair to a planned refurbishment.

Approach

One plan for the whole facility

When the pool, surround and changing rooms all need work, looking at them together usually gives a better plan. Materials, grout colours and finishes can be coordinated, and closures organised around the whole facility rather than piece by piece.

We start with a walk round the whole area, then set out the options and an order of works. Some operators prefer one longer closure, others a run of shorter ones, and we explain the trade-offs.

Either way, each area gets its full cure time before it goes back into use.

Pool work in Ellesmere Port: common questions

All questions
Can you retile a pool surround without draining the pool?

Sometimes, depending on the edge detail and how the surround meets the pool. Work at the edge and channel may need the water level lowered. We assess this on site.

What causes tiles to crack near changing room drains?

It can be movement, a poor bed under the tiles, or a lack of flexible joints. We find the cause before replacing the tiles.

Do you tile changing rooms for health clubs in Ellesmere Port?

Yes. We take on changing rooms, wet rooms and showers for health clubs, leisure facilities and schools.
