Pool refurbishment across the North East, from the Tweed down to the Tees.

We work on tiled pools right across North East England, from Northumberland down through Tyneside, Wearside and County Durham to Teesside. Coming from Warrington means we plan each trip properly, with photos first, an inspection, and the team staying nearby for the works.

Across the region

The pools we work on

The North East has a mix of large cities, former industrial towns, a long coastline and a lot of open country. That gives a wide spread of pools: public leisure and school pools in the towns, university pools in Newcastle, Durham and Sunderland, hotel and health club pools in the cities and along the coast, and private pools in homes and converted farm buildings in rural Northumberland and Durham.

We have dedicated pages for Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and Middlesbrough, and we cover the towns between them just the same.

  • Pool tile repairs and replacement
  • Epoxy and cementitious regrouting
  • Deep and chemical cleaning of tiled finishes
  • Partial and full retiles
  • Mosaic repairs and new mosaic work
  • Surrounds, changing rooms, spas and steam rooms
Planning the trip

How we work at a distance

We ask for a good set of photos or a short video before travelling. It does not replace an inspection, and we do not price from photos, but it tells us what to bring and how long to allow on site.

When the works go ahead, Dan and Jay do the tiling themselves and stay locally while the job runs. If you have more than one pool, or a site in another North East town, it is worth mentioning, since visits can sometimes be combined.

Rural pools

Private pools in the countryside

Private pools out in Northumberland or the Durham dales can be a long way from the nearest specialist. Problems tend to be left until they are obvious, by which point a small repair may have become a bigger one.

If you are not sure whether something is serious, send us photos. We will tell you plainly whether it needs attention now or can wait for a planned closure.

Closures

Closures, cure times and older finishes

Most tile repairs and regrouting need the pool drained. Adhesive and grout then need their full cure time before refilling, and we agree the draining, refill and restart of water treatment with your plant staff at the start. We do not cut cure times short to hit a reopening date.

Many North East pools have been in use for decades, and their original tiles may no longer be made. If you have a box of spare tiles in a store room, keep it. Originals make patch repairs far less noticeable, and we can advise on the closest match where none survive.

Where an older pool has been patched over and over with different tiles and grouts, we will be honest about whether more patching still makes sense.

Good to know

Pool work in North East England: common questions

All questions
Do you cover the whole of North East England?

Yes, from Berwick and Northumberland down to Teesside, along with the rest of the UK.

How do you price a job so far from Warrington?

Photos help us scope it, then we inspect the pool before agreeing a scope and estimate. We do not quote blind.

Can you combine visits to more than one North East pool?

Often, yes. If you run several pools, or know of other work nearby, tell us and we will try to plan the trip around them.

Start with an estimate

Tell us about your pool.

Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.

Dan or Jay will be in touch within 24 hours.

What affects the estimate?

  • The pool area and which surfaces need work
  • Joint size and the grout or tiles involved
  • The condition of the tiles, joints and background
  • Access to the pool and the working areas
  • Preparation, cleaning and any repairs needed first
  • The programme and when the pool can close
