The challenge
The original tiling was tired, stained and failing in places. Once the pool was drained, the base showed failed grout and damaged tiles, and the render behind the wall tiles had lost its bond in several areas.
What we did
- A full chemical clean of the pool base, patch repairs to damaged and missing tiles, and a complete regrout
- The finished base protected while the wall tiles were stripped
- Walls tap-tested, with failed render cut back to the structure and replaced with pool-grade render
- Walls retiled and regrouted
- Pool edge tiles and backers taken up and renewed along the full run, then regrouted
The result
A clean, regrouted base, sound rendered and retiled walls and a refurbished pool edge, refilled and back open to the public.
