Taunton · South West

Taunton pool repairs, out to the farms, villages and coast.

Taunton is Somerset's county town, and many of the pools we are asked about around here are not in the town at all. They are in homes, holiday lets and holiday parks out in the countryside and along the coast. We travel down from Warrington, inspect first, and plan the trip so the work gets done in one go.

Somerset

From the Quantocks to the Levels

Taunton sits in the valley of the River Tone, with the Quantock Hills to the north, the Blackdown Hills to the south and the Somerset Levels to the east. In the town there are leisure and school pools and health clubs. Beyond it are private indoor pools, pools in converted barns and holiday lets, and holiday park pools towards the coast.

Holiday pools

Getting a holiday pool ready for the season

A holiday let or holiday park pool has a short, busy season and a long quiet one. The quiet months are the time to drain it, find the loose tiles, open joints and damaged edges, and put them right before the first bookings.

Guests are not always gentle with a pool, so steps, edges and surrounds take most of the knocks. A sharp or lifting tile is a safety issue, so it is worth a check before every season.

  • Loose or sharp tiles on steps and edges
  • Grout washed out along the waterline
  • Cracked or slippery surround tiles
  • Staining and scale that a deep clean may lift
Rural sites

Access and logistics in the countryside

Rural sites bring their own questions: narrow lanes, where we can park and unload, a power supply near the pool, and somewhere to wash out tools. Let us know about these when you send photos. With a long drive behind us, we want the first visit to tell us everything we need, and we stay locally while the work is done.

Outdoor pools also face frost and long spells standing half empty over winter, which can loosen tiles at the waterline and on the edges. Tell us how the pool is wintered and we will look closely at the areas most at risk.

Pool work in Taunton: common questions

All questions
When should we book work on a holiday let pool?

Late autumn or winter is ideal, so the pool can be drained, repaired and given its cure time well before the season starts.

Our pool is down a farm track. Can you still get to it?

Usually, yes. Tell us about access, parking and power in advance so we can plan what to bring.

Do you work on school and leisure pools in Taunton too?

Yes. We take on commercial pools as well as private ones, and plan around term dates or closures.

Start with an estimate

Tell us about your pool.

Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.

Dan or Jay will be in touch within 24 hours.

What affects the estimate?

  • The pool area and which surfaces need work
  • Joint size and the grout or tiles involved
  • The condition of the tiles, joints and background
  • Access to the pool and the working areas
  • Preparation, cleaning and any repairs needed first
  • The programme and when the pool can close
