Plymouth · South West

Plymouth pool repairs, a long drive south, planned properly.

Plymouth is about as far south-west as our work usually takes us from Warrington. That distance is why we plan Plymouth jobs carefully, with photos first, a thorough inspection and a clear programme. We repair, regroute and retile pools across the city and into the Tamar valley.

The city

Pools on the Sound and beyond

Plymouth looks out over Plymouth Sound, with the Tamar marking the border with Cornwall. It is a university city and a ferry port, with hotels near the waterfront, leisure and school pools across the districts, and health clubs on the edges of town.

Further out, in the South Hams and on the Cornish side of the river, there are private pools in homes and pools on holiday parks. Many of these are used hard for a few months a year and then rest. For those, the winter is usually the time to drain down and do the work, with cure time allowed before refilling in spring.

Safety

Sharp and lifting tiles come first

A chipped tile on a step or a lifted edge on the pool rim can cut a foot. If staff find one, it should be reported and the area made safe straight away, not left until the next refurbishment.

We will tell you honestly whether a quick repair is enough or whether the problem points to a wider failure that needs a proper closure. A tile that has lifted on its own often has neighbours with a weak bond, so we tap around it before deciding.

Photos

What to send before we set off

We do not price from photos, but they help us decide what to bring on a long trip. A clear set means the first visit can go further, perhaps with a small test clean or a test area if you are happy for us to try one.

  • A walk-round video of the pool edge
  • Close shots of any cracked, hollow or missing tiles
  • The steps, waterline and any handrail fixings
  • Labels or paperwork for the original tiles

Pool work in Plymouth: common questions

All questions
Do you cover Cornwall as well as Plymouth?

Yes. We work across the whole of the UK, so pools on the Cornish side of the Tamar are no problem. We plan travel and accommodation around each job.

Can you inspect and repair on the same visit?

Sometimes, if the photos make the scope clear and the pool is drained. More often the first visit is an inspection, and the repair follows once the scope is agreed.

Do you work on hotel pools that cannot close for long?

Yes. We plan around the quietest period and are straight with you about what can sensibly be done in the time, including cure time before refill.

Start with an estimate

Tell us about your pool.

Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.

Dan or Jay will be in touch within 24 hours.

What affects the estimate?

  • The pool area and which surfaces need work
  • Joint size and the grout or tiles involved
  • The condition of the tiles, joints and background
  • Access to the pool and the working areas
  • Preparation, cleaning and any repairs needed first
  • The programme and when the pool can close
