Harrogate spa and pool tiling, in a town built on taking the waters.
Harrogate grew as a spa town, and spa bathing is still part of its character, with hotel spas, health clubs and private pools in the town and the villages around it. We repair and retile spa pools, steam rooms and swimming pools, including mosaic finishes that need careful matching.
Steam rooms and spa pools wear differently
Steam rooms run hot and wet for hours every day, and spa pools are usually warmer and more heavily treated than a swimming pool. Grout and sealant in these areas often fail sooner, especially on benches, in corners and around fittings.
We look at how the room is built, not just the tiles on the surface. Where moisture has got behind the finish, retiling over the top will not last.
Heat and humidity also shorten the life of movement joints and silicone. Replacing them at the right time is a small job that can stop water getting behind the tiles and save a much larger repair later.

Matching an existing finish
Many spa and pool areas use mosaic, sometimes with a pattern or border. Replacing a damaged section without it standing out takes time and the right tiles. If you have spare sheets from the original installation, keep them. If not, we source the closest match we can find and agree where any difference will sit.
Mosaic repairs also need care when tiles come up. The sheets around a damaged patch are often bonded on a shared backing, so we cut out cleanly and protect the sound areas around the repair.
Fitting around a busy calendar
Harrogate hosts a lot of conferences and events, and hotels here are often busy midweek as well as at weekends. We agree dates that suit your bookings and set out clearly how long each area needs to stay closed.
For a hotel spa, it helps to tell us early which treatment rooms, showers and relaxation areas need to stay usable. We plan the order of work around that, keep dust and noise down near guest areas, and agree where our materials and tools will be stored each night.
Our team’s previous pool experience
Previous projects: carried out by Dan and his dad as self-employed subcontractors, before PoolRevive was formed. About our experience
Can you repair a steam room without retiling it all?
Sometimes. If the tiles are sound and only grout or sealant has failed, a targeted repair can work. If water has got behind the finish, a wider repair is usually needed.
Do you work on private pools around Harrogate and Knaresborough?
Yes. We work on private indoor and outdoor pools as well as hotel and club spas.
Can you match an old mosaic pattern?
We do our best to. Spare original sheets help most. Otherwise, we source the closest match and talk you through the result before starting.
Tell us about your pool.
Send a few details and we’ll get back to you to understand the job. Photos of the tiles, grout and problem areas help us a lot, and you can add them below.
